I don’t have 110% to give. I have a family, I have a mortgage, I have other interests. Where’s my place in the startup world if all I have to give is 60%? What can putting in part-time give?
The good news is much more than you think. The marginal value of the last hour put into a business idea is usually much less than the first. The world is full of ideas that can be executed with 10 to 20 hours per week, let alone 40. The number of projects that are truly impossible unless you put in 80 or 120 hours per week are vanishingly small by comparison.”

Daring Fireball Linked List: Google Wants 2.25 Percent Royalty for Every iPhone Sold

Daring Fireball Linked List: Google Wants 2.25 Percent Royalty for Every iPhone Sold:
“Apple can be a dick about patents. When a user clicks on one of the search results, the meta-data is pulled in from another peer and the download starts immediately. Tribler is based on the standard BitTorrent protocol and uses regular BitTorrent trackers to communicate with other peers. But, it can also continue downloading when a central tracker goes down.

The same is true for spam control. Where most torrent sites have a team of moderators to delete viruses, malware and fake files, Tribler uses crowd-sourcing to keep the network clean. Content is verified by user generated “channels”, which can be “liked” by others. When more people like a channel, the associated torrents get a boost in the search results.

The latest addition to Tribler is a Wikipedia-style editing system dubbed “Open2Edit,” where users have the option to edit names and descriptions of torrents in public channels. All without a central server, totally decentralized.”

iOS Address Book access should prompt the user for permission – Marco.org

iOS Address Book access should prompt the user for permission – Marco.org:
Yep.

heise online | Lettland setzt ACTA-Ratifizierung vorerst aus

heise online | Lettland setzt ACTA-Ratifizierung vorerst aus

EyeEm Launches API to Help Break from the Photo-Sharing Pack

EyeEm Launches API to Help Break from the Photo-Sharing Pack:
“The API is read-only at the moment, although the ability to post photos to EyeEm from third party apps is in the pipeline – something that Instagram seems opposed to.
