"According to people close to the company, Twitter has seen more than one billion registrations to its service over the past seven and a half years. Stack up that figure against the most recent active user number — 241 million — and you’ve got a retention rate somewhere in the mid-20 percent range. Caveat: This billion-plus stat is complicated by Twitter’s massive spam problem and the subsequent purge that occurred last year. But suffice to say, registrations are still high compared to the number of current active users."
Die Twitter-IPO-Geschichten gehen los.
Twitter-CEO Dick Costolo erscheint mir ein bisschen wie ein Douchebag: ““I don’t mean to be flippant, but there’s a little bit of ‘I didn’t get my homework done because Twitter changed their API,’” he said.”
Nicht alles davon überzeugt.

"The SuperFav helps you to fav even better using Flattr!"

Als frühe Alpha. Bevor Twitter keine neuen Clients mehr erlaubt?
"In an interview with Los Angeles Times staff members on Tuesday, Costolo reiterated that the company has no reason to go public." I call bullshit.
"Wilson says Twitter’s founders and board are now deadset on it staying independent" Börsengang also irgendwann.
super: “As Twitter notes, this is “a significant departure” from how just about every other company handles patent assignments. Along those lines, it’s planning to evangelize this idea to other tech firms as well — and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a bunch of others jump on board. The basic idea makes a lot of sense. Twitter has also posted the full agreement to Github and put it under a Creative Commons license. The method by which this works is pretty creative. Basically, if the actual patent holder tries to use the patent offensively without first obtaining the permission of the inventor, the agreement allows the inventor to issue a license to the entity being sued”
